Master P can now add Doctor to his name.
The legendary hip hop mogul recently received an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters on Sunday (May 23) from Lincoln University — a historically Black university (HBCU) in Pennsylvania.
On Monday (May 24), the No Limit CEO took to Instagram to celebrate his huge achievement. “I guess I got to change my name to Dr. P. Miller,” he captioned a video recap of the graduation ceremony. “From the projects to getting a Doctoral degree from @lincolnuniversityofpa, don’t be afraid to change, grow and educate yourself. I did it! You can do it. #GODISGOOD. #Nevertoolate. #hbcu. #NoLimit. There is NO limit to your dreams. #DRPMiller.”
Romeo Miller congratulated his father in the comments, writing, “You make everything look easy, but they don’t see the sleepless nights. I always pray to God to protect you because you only get sleep/rest on the plane. Congrats Dr. P and keep inspiring. Love u pops. #NoLimit.”
More than 400 graduates attended the ceremony, including six valedictorians. Gloria Carter, co-founder and executive director of the Shawn Carter Foundation, professor and author Michael Eric Dyson and former Lincoln University professor Charles V. Hamilton reportedly also received honorary degrees.
Earlier this year, REVOLT reported that Master P was making plans to own an HBCU. The Louisiana native took to Instagram to reveal his idea.
“I just want you guys to do your research and anybody that’s listening to this and has a business, I want y’all to join this movement with me. We need to make sure that our kids get educated the way the other cultures are educated. And that funding is put back into our education. … We gotta change the narrative and it’s going to be with economic empowerment,” he said.
