Milwaukee rapper Fatboi Gwalla Gwalla was found dead inside of a burning vehicle in his hometown.
According to CBS 58, the victim, whose real name is Lamonn C. Young, was found on Tuesday (May 18). The medical examiner has ruled his death a homicide and the Milwaukee Police are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
Fatboi Gwalla Gwalla’s death is the latest loss to happen in hip hop. Recently, several rappers have been killed. REVOLT previously reported that Bay Area rapper Mike Darole was fatally shot during a botched robbery in California last weekend.
According to his family, Darole was walking his dog in front of his home when several suspects attempted to rob him. As he fought back, the assailants fired several gunshots and the 29-year-old was struck six times. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but the doctors were unable to save him.
Darole, previously known as M.I.C., used to be in several hip hop groups, including N3w Era and The League, during the mid-2000s. His 2009 debut single “Baby” accumulated over four million views on YouTube.
A GoFundMe page has been created to help raise money for his children. So far, the page has raised over $20,000, which surpassed their goal.
“Michael had a contagious laugh and smile and always wanted to see the people around him happy,” the GoFundMe read. “His passion for his music and lyrics made him loved and adored by his many thousands of fans across the world. Michael was a loving father who always made sure that his children were provided for and taken care of, they were the light of his world and what kept him motivated to succeed in every career venture that he took; from music to his own clothing line, he did it all for his family. Michael will be deeply missed and his memory will live forever.”
The REVOLT team would like to send our thoughts and prayers to Fatboi Gwalla Gwalla’s family and friends. Rest in peace.
