Tessica Brown, also known as Gorilla Glue Girl, is happy that Nicki Minaj shouted her out in her new song “Fractions.” On the track, the “Good Form” emcee rapped, “Head game slicker than little miss Gorilla Glue.” According to TMZ, Brown thought the bar was “cute.”
“She says normally she’s offended if someone calls her Gorilla Glue Girl instead of her name, but Nicki gets a pass,” the outlet reports. “She says even though Nicki didn’t reach out in advance to brief her about the shout-out, she hopes to meet her in person one day.”
Brown also said that she is looking forward to copping the Queen’s forthcoming album.
Everyone should remember how Brown received her claim to fame. Back in February, she went viral after sharing that she used a Gorilla Glue adhesive spray to style her hair once she ran out of her Göt2b Glued spray. In the video, which was shared to TikTok, she explained that she tried to wash it out, but “it didn’t move.” Instead, her ponytail kept getting “tighter and tighter.”
After having the glue stuck in her hair for almost two weeks, Dr. Michael Obeng, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, was finally able to remove the adhesive during a four-hour surgery.
On Friday (May 14), Minaj re-released her 2009 Beam Me Up Scotty mixtape to streaming services, along with three new songs — “Fractions,” “Seeing Green” and “Crocodile Teeth (Remix).” Moments before the project dropped, the Queen emcee hopped on Instagram Live with Drake to talk about their new music and Minaj’s return.
According to Chart Data, “Seeing Green” and “Fractions” are currently holding the top two spots on iTunes. Additionally, all 23 songs from Beam Me Up Scotty are simultaneously charting in the top 200 on U.S. Apple Music.
