21 Savage is gearing up to release a new EP just in time for Spiral: From The Book of Saw. The Atlanta hitmaker announced his upcoming Spiral EP on Tuesday (May 11) with a trailer that features the Saw franchise star Jigsaw.
“Spiral EP Drop[s] Friday,” Savage captioned the trailer in an Instagram post. “I Don’t Think Y’all Ready I Ain’t None To Play Wit.”
Savage and his Slaughter Gang Records were tapped to executive produce the soundtrack for the upcoming Spiral: From The Book of Saw, which will hit theatres this Friday (May 14) along with his EP. Savage first previewed his work for the film by dropping “Spiral,” the movie’s theme song, late last month.
Spiral: From The Book of Saw is the ninth installment in the Saw horror franchise and will star Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Rock, Max Minghella and Marisol Nichols. According to the official plot summary, Spiral follows police officers’ attempt to stop a Jigsaw copycat killer.
21 Savage’s last project was 2020’s Savage Mode II, which also saw him dabble in horror film themes. The album was a collaborative effort between the rapper and Metro Boomin and featured assists from Drake, Young Thug and Young Nudy. Savage Mode II debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after its October release, becoming both Savage and Metro Boomin’s second album to go No. 1.
Earlier this year, Savage was also recruited to be the face of Louis Vuitton’s summer collection. The 21-piece capsule wardrobe included bucket hats, shorts, pullovers, button-downs, jewelry and more.
Besides his own projects, Savage also recently lent a verse to DJ Khaled’s new album, Khaled Khaled. Savage hopped on track No. 6, “Let It Go” with Justin Bieber, which received a visual treatment last week.
