Tributes are continuing to pour in for DMX, who passed away on Friday (April 9), just one week after suffering a heart attack.
Joaquin “Waah” Dean, who co-founded Ruff Ryders with his siblings Darin “Dee” Dean and Chivon Dean, took to Instagram on Friday to honor X. “Forever my brother,” he captioned an image of the late rapper. “May God bless you and take you into his paradise. You will always be my brother for life. Let’s celebrate the dog for all the work he put in here. My dog for life RR.”
Other members of the Ruff Ryders family mourned DMX’s passing on social media as well. Eve wrote that she knows the late rapper is now “in the place of peace you deserve.”
“I will be forever grateful to have known you,” the “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” emcee wrote. “You were one of the most special people I have ever met. Full of Humour, talent, wisdom and love, and most of all loyalty. This world has lost a REAL ONE, but the heavens have gained an ANGEL. May you Rest.”
Swizz Beatz, who produced many tracks for X, shared an emotional tribute video on Instagram. “I’m truly beyond devastated!!!!!!” he captioned the post. “But I’m so happy my brother is no longer in pain. I watched him take everyone’s pain and make it his own. I send my love and support to his entire family. My brother we will never let them forget your name and you will live forever F.A.M.E. Long live King DMX THE GREAT AKA my brother 4 Life Earl Simmons.”
Styles P shared a throwback photo of himself, Jadakiss and Sheek Louch with X and said that the It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot emcee “was a legend before you made it.”
“The world will miss you, but the town gonna ride like you still here!! Energy never dies…” he added. Jadakiss, who has not yet broken his silence, commented under the post with crying emojis.
