Shock G will be laid to rest in Tampa, Florida this Saturday (May 1), TMZ reports. The 90s hip hop icon will reportedly be memorialized with a tribute from his Digital Underground groupmates, including Money B and DJ Fuze.

According to his manager, Atron Gregory, Humpty Hump’s groupmates have been working closely with his family to plan Saturday’s funeral proceedings. However, Money B’s manager told TMZ the service will not be a full Digital Underground reunion, though many of the members have seen each other recently and stay in touch.

Besides their beloved hits, Shock and Digital Underground were also widely known for introducing a young Tupac Shakur to the world. A representative from the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation says the rap icon’s stepbrother, Mopreme Shakur, will attend the funeral. Ray Luv, who was a close friend to both Shock and Tupac, will also be in attendance.

It’s unclear if the service will be live-streamed or available for fans to watch.

As reported by REVOLT, Shock tragically passed away last week. The 57-year-old was found dead in his Tampa hotel room. According to the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office, Shock was last seen the day before he died by the hotel’s manager, who noticed him outside the building.

The manager told TMZ he became concerned when Shock missed his scheduled check-out time and went to check on him in his room. It was there that he found Shock unresponsive in bed and immediately called 911. The cause of Shock’s death has not yet been revealed.

Digital Underground co-founder Chopmaster J confirmed Shock’s passing on Thursday (April 22).

“34 years ago almost to the day we had a wild idea we can be a hip hop band and take on the world,” he wrote on Instagram. “Through it all, the dream became a reality and the reality became a nightmare for some.”

“… Now he’s awaken [sic] from the fame, long live Shock G Aka Humpty Hump,” he continued. “Rest In Peace my Brotha Greg Jacobs!!!”
