B-Real is a busy man. In addition to prepping two new tracks —”Mother Mary’’ featuring DJ Paul and “Triple OG” featuring Freeway — the Cypress Hill frontman is also releasing a collection of NFTs. He’s partnered with world-famous tattoo artist Mister Cartoon on the limited NFTs, and plans to drop the bundle via digital asset marketplace Blockparty.
The NFT collection will include 3D animations of Mister Cartoon’s artwork, an animated music video for the song “Triple OG,” and an auction for a one-of-a-kind NFT redeemable for a cipher with B-Real.
The 50-year-old rapper from Southeast Los Angeles is among a growing community of musicians releasing exclusive art as NFTs. He joins Snoop Dogg, Ja Rule, The Weeknd, Post Malone, and others in capitalizing off the non-fungible token craze. Mister Cartoon is also joining a heap of artists who are converting their collections and creating new art for crypto.
B-Real, the avid marijuana-enthusiast, will offer fans a limited-edition curated cannabis pre-roll to celebrate the release of “Mother Mary” which was produced by Scott Storch and is slated to appear on the rapper’s forthcoming solo album. The joints are stuffed with Pineapple OZK, a new strand the rapper worked on with cannabis cultivators WonderBrett. It will be available for purchase, along with a download of “Mother Mary” at all of B-Real’s Dr. Greenthumb stores throughout California.
“I wanted to provide my fans with a special experience while listening to my new music and I can’t think of a better way for my fans to experience something very special,” B-Real said in a statement. “We took the time to develop the flower and now, it can be enjoyed with my music as a collaborative effort.”
B-Real’s new songs, NFTs, and pre-rolls are all set to release on 4/20. Cypress Hill will also be performing their greatest hits via livestream from The Roxy Theatre on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood that day.
