Houston rapper Chucky Trill was fatally shot in Atlanta early Friday morning (March 5).
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Chucky Trill, whose legal name is Corey Detiege, was found shot inside a vehicle on I-85. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
Gwinnett County police closed both lanes on the interstate for more than two hours to investigate the shooting. Corporal Collin Flynn believes shots were fired into Detiege’s vehicle from another car. “Obviously these types of shootings are very concerning for the police department,” Flynn said. “Not only do you have the two vehicles involved in the shooting, but you also have multiple people that are driving on the interstate that could also be victims in these types of crimes.”
Just hours before the shooting, Detiege was in the club watching Erica Banks perform for All-Star weekend. The “Buss It” emcee took to Instagram to send her condolences to Detiege after hearing about his death. “We were just in the club last night sayin how we was gone turn up this Sunday,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “Wow. Rest peacefully Chucky.”

Houston rapper Bun B took to Instagram on Friday to grieve the loss of the up-and-coming artist.
“Damn. This was a good man. Humble. Hard-working. Loyal. Determined. Focused. And he had the talent,” the UGK emcee wrote. “Queen saw him and told @boneafied, ‘That boy is good. If he don’t have a manager, you should do it.’ And he did, putting everything he had in it. We are heartbroken this morning and send our deepest condolences to D, Bone and all of his family, friends and supporters. Buy or stream his music and let’s keep his memory alive. #RIPChuckyTrill.”
The REVOLT team would like to send our condolences to Detiege’s family and friends. Rest in peace.
