Jeezy’s mother recently passed away, according to a tear-jerking tribute from the “Put On” emcee. He took to social media on Wednesday (Feb. 17) to share the heartbreaking news alongside some loving words to his angel.

“You taught me to be a man when I was a boy. Made me man up be a father when I was a kid. Raised me to be a natural born leader when I was lost. You lifted me when I was down. Inspired me when I had no inspiration. Always told me I was bigger than my circumstances,” Jeezy penned his heartfelt post.

“My superhero. Feared nothing or no one. No obstacle or setbacks. One of the only people in the world I could trust. When I had nothing or no one, I had you mamma. You was hard on me. I thank you for that.”

Jeezy went on to credit his confidence to his mother, noting she “encouraged” him and “never judged or down talked” his dreams. He expressed gratitude that she was able to witness the fruits of her labor via her children’s growth and contributions to the world.

“My faith is strong,” the rapper wrote. “I know God has you now. We let heaven borrow our Angel. Kiss my brother Michael. Tell em we love him. And to take care of you. You are in a better place. Dancing and singing to your favorite songs. With that beautiful smile on your face… I will continue to make you proud. I LOVE YOU MOMMA. FORVER MY MOMMA’S BABY.”

The date and cause of Jeezy’s mother’s death are not known.

Jeezy is the latest celebrity to experience the loss of a loved one this month. Yesterday (Feb. 16), Trey Songz revealed his uncle suddenly passed away; Nicki Minaj’s father was killed in a hit-and-run accident over the weekend.
