Rick Ross is the latest celebrity to bless the “Tiny Desk” stage with his fan-favorites. This marked the second time the Port of Miami 2 emcee performed with a live band. During his almost 20-minute set, he performed a plethora of his hit singles, such as “Super High,” “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast),” “Aston Martin Music,” “I’m Not A Star,” “F*ckwithmeyouknowigotit” and “Tears of Joy.”

“I want to thank NPR for bringing the Boss out,” he said during the beginning of his show. “My homies, we going to grind together since we’re going to shine together.”

At one point in the performance, Rozay also spoke about his inspirations. “So many inspired the Boss,” he said. “I could look at any brother on the street and get some inspiration from them, regardless of how many followers you got on social media, regardless of what you’re riding in. I could learn something from you. I ain’t scared to. Let’s make sure we keep building.”

Fans on social media couldn’t get enough of his concert. Journalist Justin Hunte tweeted, “Salute to Rick Ross for this one. His ‘Tiny Desk’ concert is super official. Especially this rendition of ‘Tears of Joy,’ which is one of my immediate go-to tracks when the world feels heavy.”

Twitter user @All_Cake88 tweeted, “You haters are crazy. Rick Ross killed this. The background noise from the singers is so dope. It adds a different element, plus live instruments. This go hard.”

NPR plans to highlight Black artists from different genres and backgrounds for Black History Month. The lineup will include “both emerging and established artists who will be performing a ‘Tiny Desk’ concert for the first time,” according to the media organization. “This celebration highlights the beautiful cornucopia of Black music and our special way of presenting it.”
