Since the inception of Verzuz, Fat Joe has given his take on the competitions that have gone down and the potential matchups that deserve to make their way onto the Verzuz stage. In a recent interview with “The Morning Hustle ,” when discussing the latter, the South Bronx rapper talked about who he thinks fans would be excited to see him face in a Verzuz.
“What would be the Verzuz battle that I think everybody would tune into if Fat Joe do it?” he asked. “It would be Fat Joe and 50 Cent.”
Joe’s beef with the “I Get Money” star stemmed after he appeared as a feature on Ja Rule’s hit record “New York.” The two went back and forth on a few diss tracks for years before eventually putting an end to their feud. Their past history and wonderful discographies, the “Lean Back” emcee thinks, would make for a great show.
“I think the guys in the trap, I think the girls, I think everybody [would] be like, ‘Oh wow, we got a Verzuz 50 Cent [with] Fat Joe? Oh, I’m tuning into that joint.’..That’ll be the ideal one,” he said.
During the interview, the “Lean Back” hitmaker said he’s also heard his name mentioned as a potential contender to go head-to-head with LL Cool J, but immediately dismissed the idea, noting the Queens rapper is one of his many musical influences.
“LL Cool J, let me tell you, he’s my idol. I wouldn’t even feel right, you know what I’m saying?” I rap ‘cause of him,” he said. Joe was then asked to suggest a possible competitor for the “I’m Bad” emcee, and he revealed the rappers LL allegedly desires to go against in a Verzuz.
“LL wants JAY-Z or Drake,” he said. “That’s who LL Cool J allegedly wants. JAY-Z or Drake.”
