Live Nation, the promoter behind Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, has come forth with its plans to support investigators and attendees in the wake of this year’s catastrophe. On Monday, Nov. 8, they released a statement detailing the steps they have been taking alongside Texas-based festival promotion company ScoreMore and members of the Astroworld Fest team.
According to the update, Live Nation has provided local authorities with footage from all CCTV cameras used at the event and are willing to hand over any other information needed to complete the ongoing investigation and “get everyone the answers they are looking for.” They have also halted the loadout of the site and equipment, giving investigators time and freedom to walk and examine the grounds.
In regards to their support of the festival’s attendees, Live Nation plans to reimburse “all those who purchased tickets.” They also intend on offering mental health counseling to Astroworld victims and have set up a health fund “to help with costs for medical expenses.”
“Our entire team is mourning alongside the community,” the statement concluded.
As previously reported by REVOLT, eight individuals were stampeded to death on the first night of Scott’s Astroworld Festival, prompting the cancellation of the event’s second day. Hundreds were also treated, many with naloxone, a drug that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose. Attendee Ezra Blount, a 9-year-old boy, is currently in a coma after being trampled at the event.
Roddy Ricch announced that he’s giving his earnings to the families of the eight Scott fans who passed away at the festival. Scott disclosed that he is working with local authorities amid the probe. He will also cover funeral expenses for the deceased fans and has partnered with BetterHelp to provide those affected with one month of free mental health counseling.
