Kanye West showed support for those who were impacted by the tragedy that took place at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival by dedicating his Sunday Service to the victims. On Sunday (Nov. 7), the “Jesus Walks” emcee’s Sunday Service choir got together for their lastest gospel performance and dedicated the event to “the loved ones at Astroworld.”

“Let’s get back to a peaceful state of mind with this service dedicated to the lost lives at Travis Scott’s Astroworld,” the livestream, which was shown on YouTube by REVOLT, also read.

Last Friday (Nov. 5), Scott’s annual Astroworld Festival kicked off in his hometown of Houston, Texas.

Unfortunately, things took a deadly turn once the “Sicko Mode” rapper hit the stage. The crowd suddenly surged toward the stage and several fans were squeezed together and couldn’t move or breathe. So far, eight people have been confirmed dead and hundreds were treated for injuries.

Following the event, Scott took to social media to address the tragedy. “I just want to send out prayers to the ones that was lost last night,” he said during a video posted to Instagram on Nov. 6. “We’re actually working right now to identify the families, so we can help assist them through this tough time. My fans really mean the world to me. I always just really want to leave them with a positive experience.”

The Houston native also responded to the backlash that he has been receiving for not stopping his show to help those who were hurt. “Anytime I could make out, you know, anything that’s going on, you know I stop the show and, you know, help them get the help they need,” Scott said. “I could just never imagine the severity of the situation.”

As REVOLT previously reported, at least two festival attendees have filed $1 million lawsuits following the festival. Manuel Souza, who was injured during Astroworld, has filed a lawsuit against the “Highest In The Room” MC, Live Nation, festival organizer ScoreMore and others. In the suit, Souza’s attorneys accused the organizers of negligence in light of a “predictable and preventable tragedy.”
