Bobby Shmurda lent a helping hand to underprivileged families hoping to have a great Thanksgiving meal. On Wednesday night (Nov. 24), the rapper visited the Marlboro Houses in Brooklyn and handed out 300 turkeys to those in need.
According to TMZ, he spent hours chopping it up and taking pictures with the residents before making his way to an outreach program in Ridgewood Queens, where he and Rowdy Rebel talked to troubled teens about their experiences in prison and shared advice on ways to prevent from getting in any trouble.
Shmurda’s turkey giveaway and subsequent mentor session are not surprising acts from the emcee, who has previously displayed his giving spirit.
Just last month, the “Hot Nigga” rapper donated 2,000 backpacks filled with pencils, pens, notebooks and folders to seven different New York City schools, offering words of encouragement to some lucky students.
“Please do not give your mommas no trouble this year. And please do not give your teachers no trouble this year,” said Bobby. “I want to say that I’m proud of y’all for being brave, for being strong, and for staying in school. Always remember you guys are unstoppable. You can do anything you set your mind to.”
He also blessed a few dads on Father’s Day, giving them haircuts, clothes, books and a Carribbean meal that they were able to enjoy alongside their kids, who received free gaming consoles, board games, action figures, jump ropes and footballs.
While in the spirit of giving, the rapper, who just took the stage at Power 105.1’s Powerhouse, has been thinking about new music he can give to his fans. In a recent tweet, he shared his desire to hop on a record with Adele.
“You Know what the world needs ….,” he wrote early Thurday morning (Nov. 25). “#BobbyShmurda & #Adele to make a Strip Club Anthem.” See his tweet below.
