JT is offering support to Rico Nasty, who was unfortunately targeted by hostile attendees of Playboi Carti’s “King Vamp Tour.” On Sunday (Nov. 14), the Miami native took to Twitter to demand respect for her fellow woman rapper.
“I want them to stop disrespecting her that shit not cool! Or nothing to laugh about!!!!!!” JT penned in response to a video of Rico’s horrible experience at Portland’s Theatre of the Clouds. The “Smack a Bitch” emcee later responded, expressing her love for the City Girls member. “I love you JT,” she tweeted.
The viral video itself captured the moment when a concertgoer threw a bottle at Rico, the opening act for Playboi Carti’s tour, which kicked off last month.
“Come get this nigga. Who? Who, bitch? Who the fuck was it?” Rico asked. “Be specific, don’t fucking play. Who was it? Who the fuck was it? Where they go? Somebody come get this…” The slow response from security prompted her to jump into the crowd and confront the suspect herself.
Rico’s interaction with audience members in Portland mirrors her encounter with fans on another stop of the tour. While performing her music in Los Angeles, the audience members booed in anticipation of Carti’s arrival.
“This is what the fuck we gon’ do for you disrespectful muthafuckas out there. Bitch, we gon’ sit in muthafuckin’ silence,” she screamed in response to the poor reception. “Don’t you fucking play. What you think this is? It’s not that.”
“This is fucking lame,” Rico said as the audience cheered for Carti. “He doesn’t even know you guys.”
In the wake of Rico Nasty’s encounter with rowdy concertgoers, she has also received encouraging messages from producer Metro Boomin and singer Aminé.
“Protect Rico Nasty at all costs,” said the Missouri beatmaker. “Rico Nasty forever,” added Aminé. “U niggas bums.”
