Two people who helped organize a pro-Trump rally on Jan. 6 said they regularly met with Republican lawmakers in the weeks before Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol, Rolling Stone reports.

In an article published on Sunday (Oct. 25), the unnamed organizers claimed that “a dozen” Republican members of Congress or their teams were involved in planning Trump supporters’ efforts to stop the certification of President Joe Biden’s election victory.

According to the outlet, the individuals named Rep. Paul Gosar, Rep. Andy Biggs, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Rep. Lauren Boebert, Rep. Madison Cawthorn, Rep. Louie Gohmert and Rep. Mo Brooks as members of Congress who allegedly helped plan a pro-Trump rally scheduled for Jan. 6.

“We would talk to Boebert’s team, Cawthorn’s team, Gosar’s team like back to back to back to back,” one of the organizers said. “I remember Marjorie Taylor Greene specifically.”

The individuals further claimed that Gosar offered them a “blanket pardon” if they helped organize the demonstration. Gosar, Biggs and Brooks were previously named by Ali Alexander, who organized the Jan. 6 “Stop the Steal” pro-Trump rally, as lawmakers who helped with the planning.

According to AL.com, Brooks also spoke at a Jan. 6 rally that took place near the U.S. Capitol while wearing body armor. He was subsequently sued for allegedly helping to plan the riot, but both he and Gosar have publicly denied any involvement.

The two organizers who spoke with Rolling Stone were not identified in the article as they are currently cooperating with the House select committee’s ongoing investigation into the attack. Rolling Stone added that the individuals agreed to the interview because they were upset that the rally they planned ultimately culminated in Trump supporters’ deadly insurrection.

So far, over 630 people have been arrested for participating in the riot. Earlier this month, one Capitol Police officer was charged with obstruction of justice after allegedly helping a rioter evade arrest.
