Rick Ross has a new entrepreneurial venture. Along with James Lindsay, the founder and CEO of Rap Snacks, Ross has teamed up with San Diego-based hemp manufacturing company Hempacco to produce a full line of smokables, including cannabinoid cigarettes and hemp blunt rolling paper, according to a press release.
Rozay and Lindsay have dubbed their new company Hemp Hop Smokables, LLC. The duo hopes to disrupt the tobacco industry, with the help of Hempacco, by introducing their cannabinoid hemp functional cigarettes and hemp wrap smoking rolling paper.
Hemp is a strain that comes from the Cannabis Sativa plant. It’s been grown for thousands of years but recently has been used to make oils, food, lotions, and even medicine.
There is also research that suggests smoking hemp cigarettes could help people replace tobacco and nicotine addictions. According to a Brightfield Group survey of more than 5,000 CBD users in the U.S., 41% of people who quit smoking cigarettes have entirely replaced tobacco with hemp CBD. The company, which prides itself on providing data to the CBD and cannabis industry, also found that 24% of respondents have used hemp to help quit smoking.
Rozay is well aware of the added health benefits his new product provides. “Having had my own health scares, and through my healing process, I decided I would develop a line of smokables to help others with the benefits of Hemp cannabinoids,” Ross said in the press release. “Working with James Lindsay and Hempacco’s team, including Lue, Jorge, and Sandro, has been fantastic. We’ve already started developing the flavors as well as the look and feel of all the products.”
The announcement of Ross’ hemp products arrives nearly one year after he teamed with Berner’s Cookies to launch his own marijuana company called Collins Ave. The brand currently offers three strains: Collins Ave (a soothing indica), Pink Rozay (an all-day hybrid) and Lemon Pepper (a spicy, upbeat sativa). Now, the “Biggest Boss” hopes consumers will come to him for all of their smoking needs.
“The name recognition Rick Ross brings to this project is remarkable; just marketing to his base will be an incredible experience,” said Jorge Olson, CMO and co-founder of Hempacco.
With the help of Rick and James, as well as their entire team, we’re introducing a remarkable new brand this year,” said Jorge Olson, CMO and co-founder of Hempacco. Hemp Hop’s co-founder, Lindsay, brings over two decades of business and marketing experience with his Rap Snacks imprint. “Rap Snacks are sold in supermarkets and convenience stores all over the country,” he said. “Our network of distributors are ready to welcome [Hemp Hop] to their shelves and provide consumers with a product that has cultural representation.”
Hemp Hop is giving away a free carton of its CBD cigarettes to lucky Rozay fans who register via HempHop.shop. Per the press release, the company also plans to drop surprise merchandise in the near future.
