More developments about the storming of the U.S. Capitol earlier this week are continuing to surface. As multiple news outlets have already confirmed, a total of five people died after the ordeal: Two women and two men who were Trump supporters, and one Capital Police officer.
As REVOLT previously reported, Ashli Babbit was shot and killed by a cop at the Capitol when she tried to enter the House chamber. The other rioters who lost their lives were later identified as Benjamin Phillips, Kevin Greeson, and Roseanne Boyland. Close ones of Boyland are now speaking out about her — even admitting that she had an obsession with QAnon conspiracy theory.
According to Rawstory, Boyland was trampled to death during the riots. What makes this news even more ironic is the fact that before her passing, the rioter was seen holding a Revolutionary War-era flag that read, “Don’t tread on me.”
Her family is now blaming Trump for her death. “Rosanne was really passionate about her beliefs like a lot of people,” said her brother-in-law Justin Cave. “I’ve never tried to be a political person, but it’s my own personal belief that the president’s words incited a riot that killed four of his biggest fans [Wednesday] night, and I believe that we should invoke the 25th Amendment at this time.”
Boyland’s friend — a fellow rioter named Justin Winchell — added: “People were in there to start stuff, but it wasn’t supposed to be a violent event. They basically created a panic, and the police, in turn, push back on them, so people started falling.
“I put my arm underneath her and was pulling her out and then another guy fell on top of her, and another guy was just walking [on top of her]. There were people stacked 2-3 deep…people just crushed.”
The U.S. Capitol rioters broke into the building, looted materials, and vandalized a number of rooms including members of Congress’ offices. It’s even being reported that they smeared feces throughout the halls of the government building. One Capitol Police officer died as a result of the attempted coup.
The FBI is now looking for more information about the violent mob.
