XXXTentacion’s alleged killers are slated to make appearances in court in a few weeks, XXL reported.
According to the publication, the four men alleged of killing the rapper have court hearings scheduled in November.
The hearings will take place via Zoom as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Robert Allen and Michael Boatwright will meet with Judge Michael A. Usan on Nov. 6, and Dedrick Williams and Trayvon Newsome will virtually appear in court exactly one week later.
During the court appearances which are classified as “calendar calls,” the judge will evaluate information presented by the attorneys and defendants to decide whether the case will go to trial. In the event that any suspect misses their hearing, they will forfeit any bond.
The four men allegedly involved in XXX’s murder are in police custody at the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Lauderdale, FL where they will remain until their trials. Previous requests for bond have not been granted.
Back in February, a judge denied Newsome’s request for bond. “This court having found proof evident and presumption great hereby declines to set bonds,” Usan wrote in his decision at the time. “No bonds remain as to counts 1, 2.”
In April, Williams asked to be released from jail on bond because he was concerned about Coronavirus’ potential effect on his life. In a letter to Usan, he mentioned he has a weakened immune system and feared the virus would kill him, adding he doesn’t want to leave his children without a father. He also mentioned he’s never missed any court appearances or failed any drug tests after seven years of dealing with Usan in the courtroom.
Allen, Boatwright, Williams and Newsome have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of XXX who was shot and killed in his vehicle outside the RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, FL on June 18, 2019.
