Travis Scott tapped Young Thug and M.I.A. for his latest single “FRANCHISE” on Friday (Sept. 25) and along with it came an accompanying music video that was shot in basketball icon Michael Jordan’s mansion.
According to TMZ Sports, it turns out Jordan permitted the Grammy award-nominated artist to use his $14.8 million crib “without hesitation” and called it a “no-brainer.”
The 29-year-old Houston rap star thought filming the music video for the first single release off his forthcoming album Utopia would be a good idea so he hit up MJ to see about using his posh His Airness’ Highland Park pad right outside of Chicago. Apparently, Jordan was down for it and handed him the keys to the mansion.
The video kicks off with the multi-platinum hitmaker entering into the iconic “23” gates of Jordan’s extravagant palace. It features a sea of Jordan sneakers scattered all over his full-court basketball court, shots of Jordan’s lavish infinity pool, with the Clermont Twins also making a guest appearance. Not to mention, there’s plenty of fast, sports cars burning rubber.
It’s absolutely understandable as to why Jordan would lend Travis his seven-acre estate to shoot his music video considering the rapper’s lucrative Nike deal and the fact that he’s collaborated with the company to release several colorways, that consistently sell out, the Cactus Jack way.
The 9-bedroom castle is also up for sale and Travis just gave the world a taste of what it’s like to hang a legend’s opulent home. Sprawling over 30,000 square feet, the purchase of His Airness would also include 19 bathrooms, a full gym, a putting green, a tennis court, a luxurious cigar room and enough space to fit 14 cars on the lot.
