For the latest episode of “Young Money Radio,” Lil Wayne tapped Nicki Minaj.
During their conversation, the two hinted at the possibility of a joint album. Although this would mark their first LP together, Minaj and Weezy have joined forces on several tracks over the years, including “No Frauds,” “Only,” “Good Form,” “High School” and more.
“We doing our joint album,” Wayne asked Minaj. “A lot of the fans been asking about it. When we gon’ do this?”
After giving it some thought, Minaj explained that she was open to the idea. “You already know, your wish is my command,” Minaj replied. “It’s scary. It’s scary to put a verse on something after you put a verse on it. Last time we worked together was ‘Rockstar (Remix).’ The Post Malone remix, remember we did that? Love that. But it’s like me really, really having to think so much. I gotta go hard. I can’t just, you know, wing it. So that’s the only thing I would be scared of.”
She added, “But I would definitely do it. Whenever you say the word.”
Earlier this month, Minaj revealed that she was getting in contact with Kanye West about their unreleased track “New Body.” She also dished that a music video was shot for the single at the time. “Ok let me hit ‘Ye about ‘New Body’ I see y’all asking,” Minaj wrote during a Instagram Live session. “The [fact] that we shot a whole music video to this song.”
In addition to handling things on the music front, the Queen rapper has been using her platform to speak out against racial injustices. Following the death of George Floyd, the New York spitter informed fans of ways to provide financial relief to families in need.
