Future’s High Off Life album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, clocking in his seventh No. 1 album. The record went Gold in a matter of minutes, thanks to its high-selling previously released hits, like “Life Is Good.” The Atlanta-bred rapper celebrated the feat in an Instagram post, writing, “7 number 1 albums. Lucky Me.”

According to Billboard, the record accumulated 153,000 equivalent album units during its debut week, with 16,000 derived from album sales and the majority from streaming. The outlet also noted that most of the traditional album sales came from merchandise / album bundles, as well as signed physical copies of the LP, available on Future’s online store.

As his seventh No. 1 album, High Off Life also marked the biggest sales week of any of his solo albums. Elsewhere on the chart, Polo G’s The Goat debuted at No. 2, while Lil Baby’s My Turn moved up to No. 3.

Speaking with XXL, Future previously called High Off Life the “next level” for his creativity.

“It’s about life and being good and just enjoying life,” he explained. “So many tragedies and catastrophes and everything is going on in the world. And you want to enjoy life, as long as you have it. Waking up, breathing, well, you want to be able to soak it all up and be appreciative for every moment on this earth, every moment that you’re living.”

“This album right here defines me at a creative level,” he continued. “Going to the next level where you just going to the next level and always going outside the box, but still remaining true to my core fans and my core audience. It’s me trying new things.”

Speaking with Zane Lowe, Future also revealed that he’s currently working on an upcoming book and Netflix movie.

“Right now, I got my book I’m working on,” he told Lowe. “My movie I’m working on. They’re going to able to find it on Netflix.”
