Rihanna is officially the richest female musician in the UK.
According to The Sunday Times’ annual rich list, the “Love On The Brain” singer debuted at No. 3 overall, under Andrew Lloyd Webber and Paul McCartney. The songstress has an estimated fortune of £468m, which is just under $571 million. She is also the only solo female musician in the top 20.
Robert Watts, the compiler of The Sunday Times rich list, says Rih represents the “seismic change” that has taken place for self-made people.
“If you look through the yellowing pages of the first list in 1989, it looks like a rogues’ gallery of middle-aged and elderly white men,” he said. “It was earls, dukes and figures from manufacturing and finance. Now, money is being made in different ways and by all sorts of different people – like Rihanna.”
Besides a musical catalogue of eight albums, the Anti singer also has a successful Savage x Fenty lingerie line and a Fenty fashion line with LVMH.
Most of Rihanna’s wealth can be attributed to her highly successful Fenty Beauty cosmetics line, which, according to Forbes, generated an estimated $570 million in revenue after only 15 months in business.
Although Rih has become very successful, she always gives back. The “Kiss It Better” singer has been saving the world during COVID-19. Her Clara Lionel Foundation has donated over $20 million in funds to over 30 organizations in 15 countries.
She most recently teamed up with Jack Dorsey’s #startsmall, Big Sean’s Sean Anderson Org and other foundations to donate $3.2 million to COVID-19 relief efforts in the cities of Flint and Detroit, Michigan. “This round of grants will mobilize comprehensive solutions ranging from food distribution and foster care to bail relief, temporary shelter and social support services in Michigan and elsewhere,” the press release stated.
Congratulations to Rihanna!
