If you missed Lil Jon and T-Pain’s Instagram Live battle on Saturday (Apr. 4), you missed a sneak peek at an unreleased track that Jon played featuring Ludacris and Usher.
“Y’all don’t know how many conversations I’ve had about this record,” Lil Jon said during the battle. He also said that the unreleased track was created two years ago, but was never released because Usher didn’t feel comfortable sharing the single.
The untitled track was immediately met with positive feedback from fans on social. Usher is now debating whether or not he should release the track this week.
He tweeted, “Yo!! … after that response last night to my new record after the battle between Lil Jon & T-Pain … I’m thinkin bout dropin this week … retweet me if you feelin it?”
One fan responded to Usher’s tweet by saying “I’m speaking for all 260k people that was on, YOU BETTA! Y’all hiding these bangers from us, knowing we losing our minds!! You gotta do the Lord’s work na!”
Another fan responded, “Drop the album and make that a bonus track! we aren’t rushing you but we’re rushing u…. got us waiting two years for that heat. I’m STILL mad at you behind that one!”
Usher, Luda, and Lil Jon collaborated together on “Lovers and Friends” in 2004. The trio was set to take the stage this year at the Lovers and Friends festival as headliners, but the event has since been postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The festival is rescheduled for Aug. 8 at Dignity Health Sports Park.
Other festival performers include Jhene Aiko, Summer Walker, Megan Thee Stallion, Nelly, Sean Paul, T-Pain, Lil Kim, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Saweetie, Twista, Trick Daddy, Ginuwine, Eve, Trina, Cam’ron, Foxy Brown, Baby Bash and more.
