The virtual Easter service for Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church is about to be a star-studded event. According to TMZ, Kanye West, Tyler Perry and Mariah Carey are set to join Osteen this Sunday (April 12) through a livestream.
The publication reports that Carey will be part of a special tribute to first responders and medical professionals by performing “Hero.” Perry will reportedly deliver words of encouragement and West will provide music for the viewers with his Sunday Service choir.
According to Lakewood Church’s website, in the wake of the pandemic, the church has decided to take their services virtually.
“We wanted to update you, as news of the coronavirus (COVID-19) has been affecting people around the globe and now Houston,” the website read. “It has always been a priority for us to offer our members and our guests a safe and healthy environment to worship and take their next steps towards Jesus.”
“Since Lakewood draws such large numbers of both members, guests, and international visitors each week, Lakewood’s leadership has decided not to hold public services this weekend,” the website continued. “Instead, Lakewood will broadcast its services exclusively online with some additional unique segments.”
“All of our service times will remain, so you can join us for an encouraging message and uplifting worship, right from the comfort of your home,” stated the website. “We are excited for you to join us for this experience via your phone, smart tv, or computer.”
Back in November, West spoke to Osteen about his spiritual transformation and how he’s now under full-service to God.
“All of that arrogance and confidence and cockiness that y’all seen me use before, God is now using for him,” West said.
The service will take place Sunday at 11:00 am CT. You can stream the service on Lakewood’s official website, Facebook, YouTube, Roku, Apple TV, or Sirius XM Channel 128.
