Although Tekashi 6ix9ine is currently serving out the rest of his sentence in home confinement, that is not stopping the rapper from releasing new music.

Complex caught up with 6ix9ine’s attorney Dawn Florio and asked her about whether or not he could release new music under his home confinement terms.

“Yes, he can release music,” she said.

Florio then confirmed that earlier reports about the “FEFE” rapper dropping the albums under the 10K Projects label.

“What he’s gonna do is, he already has that advance for 10K Projects,” Florio explained. “So he has to put out a Spanish album and an English album. So that’s what he’s going to be working on.”

6ix9ine’s lawyer has been trying to get his client released from prison early due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Dummy Boy rapper reportedly suffers from asthma and his condition put him at a heightened risk if he caught the virus. Last week, Judge Engelmayer denied his request on the grounds that he had no authority to release him early. The judge said that if he’d known about the global pandemic at the time of 6ix9ine’s sentencing, he would have ruled that the rapper transfer to home confinement.

This week, the judge changed his decision. He signed off on his request to leave prison early. 6ix9ine was freed from the Queens Detention Facility he was being held at and ordered to serve the remainder of his at home under supervised release.

He will have to wear a GPS monitor must remain at an address approved by his probation officer. He can only leave if he needs medical treatment or if he needs to visit his attorney. He must also get pre-approval from the Probation Department.
