2 Chainz may not be opening the doors for his Escobar restaurant locations for dine-in services, but he is using his business to help feed the homeless in Atlanta.

The “NO TV” rapper shared a short video of customers lined up outside of his restaurant with the caption, “Instead of opening @escobaratlanta up today we decided to feed the homeless.”

Many celebrities praised the MC for his philanthropy. T.I. wrote, “King shit” in his Instagram comments. Diddy shared a black raised fist emoji to show support for his friend. Killer Mike reposted the video on his Instagram story and wrote, “Love this brother! Salutes @2chainz for feeding Atlanta’s most in need — our homeless population.”

Last week, Snoop Dillard, 2 Chainz’s business partner and co-owner of Escobar, told TMZ that both restaurant locations would reopen for business following Governor Brian Kemp’s decision to resume businesses in Georgia.

Dillard told the outlet that he hoped to bring back 65 percent of the restaurants’ staff by today (April 27). They also planned to undergo additional safety measures that included checking employees’ temperatures at clock-in, giving masks to the cooks, administering mandatory gloves and providing disposable one-use paper menus for customers. Any employee who showed Coronavirus symptoms would be asked to leave and self-quarantine for two weeks.

After receiving heavy backlash on social media, 2 Chainz and Dillard decided to keep the doors of Escobar closed for dine-in service until further notice.

”After careful consideration, we are not going to open our restaurants on Monday,” Dillard told TMZ. “It has not officially been decided when we will start having dine-in service.” Both restaurant locations are currently offering take out services. Customers can also order food through delivery apps.
