DaBaby has scored another No. 1 album with Blame It On Baby. The projected debuted at the top spot on the Billboard 200, accumulating 124,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The majority of those units — 110,000 — came from streaming services, while 12,000 were derived from album sales and 3,000 came from track equivalent units. DaBaby earned his first-ever No. 1 album last year with Kirk.

With the new accomplishment, Blame It On Baby dethrones The Weeknd’s After Hours, which had reigned at No. 1 for four consecutive weeks. The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” is still No. 1 on the Hot 100, though, above Drake’s “Toosie Slide.”

DaBaby’s No. 1 also marks the eighth week in a row that a hip hop or R&B album has topped the Billboard 200 chart — the longest streak in over a year. Before After Hours, Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake and Lil Baby’s My Turn had dominated the chart.

Speaking with Ebro Darden on Friday (April 24) about his new album, DaBaby announced that he’s already planning to drop another project before the end of this year.

“You asking if I’m gonna drop another album?” the Charlotte-bred star had asked. “Damn right. Definitely, definitely, for sure. I can’t not do that. I gotta put out more.”

Also appearing on “The Breakfast Club,” DaBaby addressed those who have criticized him for maintaining a similar flow.

“As far as switching the flow, I have no problem rapping circles around any one of these ni**as,” he said. “I couldn’t find myself entertaining that. I could joke about it just like I joke about everything else. I’ll make a conscious album right now, I’ll record the whole sh*t today. On some J. Cole vibes. Joyner Lucas. I can get in there too.”

“At the end of the day, I understand what’s going on,” he continued. “You gotta milk the game. You gotta take advantage of it. If I switch it too quick, you ain’t gon’ like it. You gon’ be like ‘Damn Baby, I wanted you to turn me up.’ When you got something going, you would be a fool to step on your own toes and go left with it.”
