Back in January, Ciara and Russell Wilson announced they were expecting their second child together. Now, the “Melanin” singer and her Seattle Seahawks quarterback husband have revealed they are expecting a boy.
In a sweet gender reveal clip tweeted by Ciara on Tuesday (April 14), the singer is surrounded by Wilson, their 3-year-old daughter Sienna Princess and 5-year-old Future Zahir, whom Ciara shares with Future. In the video, Ciara asks the kids if they’re hoping for a baby brother or sister, to which Future replies, “I want it to be a boy!”
Ciara said she was hoping for “whatever God has for us,” before she and Wilson shot off confetti launchers that sprinkled sparkling blue streamers into the sky. It’s clear that she and Wilson are excited to be welcoming a baby boy, as both parents danced around the backyard.
As an expectant mother amidst the pandemic, Ciara has shared the challenges that Coronavirus has posed to her pregnancy.
“Ultrasound visits during this era of Covid-19 is a bummer because my hubby [Russell Wilson] can’t come in with me to my visit,” she tweeted on Monday (April 13). “Truly a challenging time for expectant mothers.”
Furthermore, Ciara also had to postpone a concert in her hometown last month due to the rampant virus.
“With the continued spread of the coronavirus throughout the US [and] as a pregnant woman, my doctors have advised me to limit travel and large group gatherings,” Ciara announced in a statement at the time. “I am disappointed I won’t be able to return this month to the place where I was born, Ft. Hood, Texas, and put on the amazing show we had planned. I look forward to being able to bring it to you at a later date in 2020… I urge everyone to be diligent in taking steps to stay healthy and safe!”
She and Wilson have helped out during the pandemic by donating one million meals to their local Seattle food bank.
