JT is happy to be home. According to TMZ, the City Girls rapper was officially released from federal custody on Friday (March 6) after spending the remainder of her sentence in a halfway house.
Taking to Twitter on Saturday (March 7), JT celebrated finally being home by posting a collage of selfies taken from her bed, which she says she hasn’t slept in for two years.
“Woke up in my own bed for the first time in 2 years!” she wrote. “Happppppyyyyy.”
JT has been in custody since 2018, when she turned herself in for identity theft charges. Per her supervised release terms, the rapper will remain on probation for one year and she will reportedly need to submit a drug test within 15 days of being home. Furthermore, she’s not allowed to possess any controlled substances or firearms and will have to complete 200 hours of community service.
The Miami-bred rapper was released from prison back in October. Shortly after her release, the she fired off her City Girls return single, “JT First Day Out.” Later that month, Quality Control CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas announced that the duo was back to work again.
“She gon’ start recording next week and just stay tuned,” Thomas had told TMZ at the time, adding that they were gearing up to start working on a new project.
In celebration of JT’s release, her City Girls counterpart Yung Miami had also “spent a car” on her welcome home necklace.
“Happy birthday to my EVERYTHING. I spent a car on this I F***ING LOVE YOU & if a b*tch ever think otherwise they crazy!!!!” she posted on Instagram. “B*tch you love diamonds Chanel & your kids…. it’s all there! Pop your sh*t!!!!”
Most recently, the pair have teamed up on one-off singles “You Tried It” and “Handle It.” Their last full-length LP, Girl Code, arrived in 2018.
