Usher is bringing his knowledge on dance to the Quibi dance competition series called “The Sauce.” The “Confessions” singer will serve as a judge and executive producer of the show.
“The Sauce” will be hosted by Atlanta-based dancers, Ayo and Teo. The show will explore different dance cultures from around the United States and the judges will choose the best talent to compete head-to-head.
“Dance continues to drive much of our popular culture in increasingly more meaningful ways, and I can’t wait to help these young dancers express their extraordinary talent and vision,” said Usher. “I’m excited to be working with Quibi and The Front, who share my vision for cutting-edge, culture-forward content and have created an innovative platform to recognize incredibly gifted dancers from across the nation.”
In 2016, Ayo and Teo went viral when they showcased their dance moves to the world. Usher invited the brothers to participate in the music video for his hit “No Limit.” The brothers also joined Usher in Chris Brown’s video for “Party.”
“The Sauce” is set to premiere on Quibi on Apr. 6. MTV’s reboot of “Punk’d,” which will be hosted by Chance The Rapper, will also premiere on the streaming service that same day.
The rapper announced the news via Instagram with an official teaser for the new season of the show. He captioned the post, “I got a new job. I’m hosting PUNK’D on @quibi NO ONE IS SAFE.” In the video, you see Chance playing a prank on Megan Thee Stallion. The prank involves a gorilla and you can clearly see that Megan is scared out of her mind.
In a press release, Chance said “‘Punk’d’ is one of MTV’s most iconic franchises. I grew up watching this show and it’s surreal to be in the driver’s seat this time around on Quibi.”
Punk’d” will be comprised of episodes that are “bite-sized cuts.” The full list of celebrities that were pranked will be released soon.
