Many artists have been stepping up to the plate when it comes to donating equipment or providing funding for emergency response efforts in the wake of the Coronavirus. Most recently, Lizzo added her name to the ever-growing list of supporters when she bought and sent lunches to healthcare professionals at several different hospitals.

“Shout out to all of y’all for being so brave and working so hard and making sure that we’re safe and healthy and [for] healing people,” the “Juice” singer said in a tweeted video. “That is incredible. You guys are hereos. And so, the least I could do is just send you some lunch.”

“I hope it puts a smile on your face and I hope that you feel loved and appreciated because you really truly are,” she continued. “Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart.”

According to the Seattle Times, staff at the University of Washington Medical Center’s Montlake emergency room received lunches courtesy of Lizzo on Monday (March 30). The artist also reportedly sent meals to a University of Minnesota affiliate in Minneapolis, where she first began her music career.

“She sent several hospitals food that were hit really hard for staff working around the clock,” her publicist informed the Times. “She is planning to send food to more hospitals as well.”

On Instagram, Lizzo shared a short recap clip featuring healthcare professionals working at hospitals across the nation.

“We wanted to send lunch to hospitals across the country, to show our appreciation for medical workers,” the clip read.

“S/O to our heroes,” Lizzo captioned the video. She also included a link where followers can donate to the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. According to the fund’s website, donations will go toward tracking and understanding the spread of Coronavirus, ensuring patients’ treatment and providing essential supplies for healthcare professionals.
