The coronavirus is shutting everything down. The Days of Summer Cruise Fest has announced that they are officially cancelling their scheduled trip for July 1.
“After careful consideration of the health risks posed by the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Days Of Summer announces that its third annual hip hop cruise and music festival, scheduled to embark from Miami on July 1st, 2020, will no longer occur,” cruise organizers said in a statement.
“The Days of Summer Cruise Fest prioritizes the safety of its passengers and with the rapidly-developing situation surrounding the virus, the fest has determined that appropriate course of action is to preventatively cancel the event,” the statement continued.
Last year, the sold out hip hop cruise was hosted by DJ Khaled and featured performances from Cardi B, Post Malone, Roddy Ricch, City Girls, and DaBaby. There was also a tribute to the late Nipsey Hussle.
There were many events planned over the course of the four-day cruise. On day one, guests enjoyed the Ciroc swimsuit party, a gaming deck, beauty bar and welcome party. Day two consisted of a hip hop workout class, spin class, Ciroc mixology class, and comedy show. On day three, there was a tug-of-war competition, gaming tournament, and an old school vs new school party. On day four, the ship returned back to Miami, Florida and guests returned home.
This cruise is one of many events that have been cancelled due to the spreading of coronavirus.
Live Nation has postponed all current and upcoming tours and have asked all artists who are currently on tour to return home. Live Nation told all of their employees about their decision today (Mar. 12) and instructed them to work remotely to avoid coming into the office.
The Days of Summer Cruise Fest will return from July 1-5, 2021. Check their official website for more information.
