Nick Gordon’s cause of death has finally been revealed. E! News has obtained a copy of his autopsy report and it declares that Gordon died of heroin toxicity. His death is listed as accidental.
The former boyfriend of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown, died at the age of 30 on New Year’s Day. He was found unresponsive and in cardiac arrest. Witnesses said that “black stuff” was coming from his mouth. Sources said that Gordon suffered from multiple heart attacks on New Year’s Day and was quickly transported to the Intensive Care Unit at Altamonte Springs Hospital, where he later passed away.
“My heart is heavy today after learning that my longtime client Nick Gordon died at the young age of thirty,” his attorney Joe S. Habachy told E! News at the time. “While I cannot speak to the specific circumstances of his death, I can say that it’s been truly heartbreaking to have witnessed firsthand the total devastation that drug addiction has wreaked upon a group of young friends, all of whom were loved and had immense potential.”
“Despite all of the incredible challenges Nick faced over the last few years, I can honestly say that he worked hard to hold his head up and stay sober and that he genuinely wanted a happy healthy life with his family more than anything else,” the lawyer continued. “My heart goes out to the family and friends Nick leaves behind and to any other families dealing with the losses and heartache caused by drugs.”
His death came just a little over three years after he was found liable in the wrongful death case of Brown, after she was found unresponsive in her bathtub in the home she shared with Gordon. As a result, he was ordered to pay her estate $36 million.
