Jhené Aiko fans get your coins ready because she is coming to a city near you. The “Triggered” singer has just announced that she is going on tour.
Jhené made the announcement via Twitter. She tweeted, “ready for the magic hour #TheMagicHourTour pre-sale tickets available tomorrow at 10am local on http://jheneaiko.com #CHILOMBO.”
“The Magic Hour Tour” is scheduled to kick off May 1 in Boston and go until the last tour stop on Jun. 27 in Saint Kitts. Queen Naija and Ann Marie will join Jhené during the 33-date journey. Pre-sale tickets are available tomorrow (Feb. 28) at 10 am local time.
The tour comes in support of Jhene’s forthcoming album Chilombo, which is set to be released on Mar. 6. The 20-track album features appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, Miguel, Big Sean, Nas, Future, H.E.R., John Legend, Ab-Soul and more. The album features singles like “None of Your Concern,” “P*$$Y Fairy (OTW),” and “Triggered (freestyle).”
Jhené recently talked to Essence about how her boyfriend Big Sean felt after her heard her track, “Triggered.”
“He was just like, ‘Wow, I’m not your friend.’ I was like, ‘Well, I was feeling that in the moment. This is just a song. This is not 100% about you,’” she recalled. “Those are the things that I may feel, and I know that they are irrational and coming from just an angry emotional place, but that’s what’s so beautiful about art is that you can just throw paint on a blank canvas, and do something crazy and that’s your release. You didn’t hurt anyone, you know? I feel like, especially because we have a personal relationship, and a true friendship, that’s why I could play it for him, and be like, ‘Yeah, sorry. I kind of went really hard, but don’t think that this is a personal letter to you.’”
