Cardi B will be heading back to Africa this summer.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper is headlining the Castle Lite Unlocks concert at the Ticketpro Dome in South Africa. The concert is set to take place this summer on June 12.
Cardi took to Twitter to ask her fans to educate her about South Africa. She tweeted, “SOUTH AFRICA !! Chioma B is coming !!!!….Teach me more bout your country in the comments.”
“Castle Lite prides itself in not only being a market leader in the beer category, but also in our commitment to making a positive contribution to African hip hop culture,” Castle Lite brand director Silke Bucker said. “We couldn’t be more excited to reveal the multi-award winning ‘Press’ hitmaker Cardi B as this year’s headliner.”
Cardi was recently in Africa to perform at the Livespot X Festival on Saturday (Dec. 7). She also performed in Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium in the capital city.
On her down time, she visited an orphanage in Lagos, Nigeria and donated supplies to the less fortunate. She donated hundreds of diapers, bottled water and feminine products for women at the orphanage. Music executive, Brooklyn Johnny, joined Cardi on the trip. In an Instagram post, he shared to fans that they loaded up as many supplies they could to take to the orphanage. “We spent our only free time in Nigeria shopping for children in need,” he wrote. “We literally bought as much as the vehicles we had in our convoy could carry… Today was a good day.”
In an Instagram post, she shared photos of herself with the women of the orphanage. She captioned the post, “Gotta thank the ladies and the gentlemen that nurtured these kids that need just a little bit of more love and protection and gear them up for a better place, destiny and future. People like YALL MATTER!”
