Snoop Dogg will appear on an upcoming episode of “Red Table Talk” to discuss the culture of disrespect between black men and black women.
Jada Pinkett Smith shared the news on her Instagram account. “@snoopdogg is coming to @redtabletalk Wednesday, February 26th to have an in-depth and insightful conversation about The Culture of Disrespect Between Black Men and Black Women. Join us ❣️,” she wrote on her post.
For the past few weeks, Snoop has been the topic of discussion after he made comments slamming Gayle King for asking Lisa Leslie about Kobe Bryant’s rape allegations after his untimely death. Several people felt like the question was ill-timed. Snoop was very vocal with his sentiments towards the Gayle interview. He uploaded a video of himself calling Gayle out of her name and many believe that he was sending violent threats to Gayle.
Snoop has since publicly apologized for his comments.
“Two wrongs don’t make no right. When you’re wrong, you gotta fix,” he said in the Instagram video. ”So with that being said, Gayle King, I publicly tore you down by coming at you in a derogatory manner based off of emotions … me being angry at questions that you asked … Should have handled it way different than that. I was raised way better than that, so I would like to apologize to you publicly for that language that I used and calling you out of your name and just being disrespectful.”
Gayle reportedly accepted Snoop’s apology, but it still brings forth the question of why is there such a huge disconnect between black men and women.
Snoop will be surrounded by Jada, her daughter Willow Smith, and her mother Adrienne Norris, so he will be able to express himself as well as listen to their different perspectives. This episode of “Red Table Talk” airs Feb. 26 at 9 am PT.
