Roddy Ricch’s debut album is continuing to make history. Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial has returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for the fourth time since its December 2019 release.

According to Billboard, “The album earned 79,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Feb. 13 (down 8%), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.” The last album to go No. 1 four separate times was Taylor Swift’s 1989.

The album features guest appearances from Meek Mill, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Durk, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and was originally released on Dec. 6. Following its release, the album debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 moving 101,000 album units. One month later, the album returned to the No. 1 spot, making it the first time a debut rap album has reemerged at the top spot since The Game’s The Documentary album did in 2005.

In Nov. 2018, Ricch was featured in YouTube’s Artist on the Rise program.

“A nigga used to drop songs and get only thousands of views,” Ricch tells Billboard. “It’s crazy. My brother and me, we used to be like, ‘We’ll put this video out tonight, and if it did 1,000, it did good.’ Now, I dropped ‘Boom Boom Room’ Jan. 22, and in a day, I got 1.5 million.”

Ricch has been expecting this type of success for awhile now. “I ain’t follow nobody path. I did it my own way. It’s just grindin’, ya feel me? You just gotta grind,” he told XXL last summer. “When I drop, they gon’ know what’s up. This my coming-out season.”

Ricch recently won his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance for his Nipsey Hussle collaboration, “Racks In The Middle.” His hit song “The Box” has garnered over 98 million views on YouTube for its lyric videos. An official video for the song is in the works.
