It’s official— Run The Jewels 4 is ready. El-P took to Twitter on Friday (Feb. 14) to share the good news about the duo’s highly anticipated project.
“RTJ4 is done,” he tweeted.
Soon after, Killer Mike caused a brief panic among fans when he jokingly retweeted the announcement, adding, “Hold up! I wanna change something…”
Run The Jewels still hasn’t offered a release date for the album; however, El-P has teased on Twitter that the record will arrive before April.
“The album will be out before we play Coachella and def not this month that’s all i can say now,” he tweeted back in January. “We will announce a hard date soon.”
Also via Twitter, El-P has given fans a few details about the upcoming project’s current runtime.
“I can also say at this point RTJ4 is about 11 jams, it’s under 40 minutes and not a second is wasted,” he previously tweeted. “Hopefully that helps tide the curious over for a minute while we finish up. Big thanks to everyone waiting.”
The self-titled LP will mark Run The Jewels’ first album since 2016’s Run The Jewels 3. Spanning across 14 tracks, their last record featured contributions from Trina, Kamasi Washington, BOOTS, Tunde Adebimpe, Danny Brown and Joi.
In other Run The Jewels news, the rap duo recently announced that they’ll be going on tour this summer, joining rock band Rage Against The Machine’s Public Service Announcement Tour.
The tour kicks off March 26 in El Paso, TX and will hit over 40 cities, including New Orleans, Minneapolis, Boston, Detroit, Cleveland, New York City, Toronto and more. The Public Service Announcement Tour will wrap up on Sept. 12 in Vienna, Austria.
Run The Jewels are also scheduled to perform at this year’s Coachella Music Festival, Bonnaroo Music & Artis Festival, England’s Reading and Leeds Festival and Firefly Festival.
