Killer Mike is opening up about Lil Wayne’s recent endorsement for President Donald Trump. In a recent interview with John Heilemann for the “Hell & High Water” podcast, the Run The Jewels emcee says he believes Weezy was given a few million dollars to support Trump.
“I don’t know why Wayne did the endorsement,” he said. “I’m still a Lil Wayne fan. He is one of the greatest rappers on fucking earth, but I suspect, like 50 Cent said, they offer you a million bucks, shoot… They offered 50 a million. Shit, they might’ve offered Weezy three or four, you know?”
He added, “And shit, I wouldn’t support Trump, but if you called me with a five million dollar offer, I at least got to roll over and say, ‘Shea [his wife], they offered us five fucking million.’ She’s going to say, ‘Go to fucking sleep.’ You know what I mean?…That’s simply to say, politicians are bought by lobbyists. Politicians spread money around.”
Back in October, the “A Milli” emcee took to social media to declare that he was endorsing Trump for presidency in the 2020 election. “Just had a great meeting with [Donald Trump],” Wayne tweeted. “Besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the Platinum Plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”
Shortly after Joe Biden was announced as the president-elect, 50 Cent revealed that that Trump administration offered him $1 million to attend Trump’s inauguration. “… [They initially offered] $500,000 and it went up to $1 million while I was still confused with whether I should do it,” he said during an interview with “The Breakfast Club.”
Weezy has not publicly confirmed if he was paid for supporting Trump.
