Fans are convinced an alternative version of Eminem’s January LP Music To Be Murdered By is arriving tomorrow (Dec. 18) thanks to a few well-placed social media clues. Rumors about Music To Be Murdered By: Side B picked up this week after Eminem collaborator Dem Jointz included the supposed follow-up album’s cover art in an Instagram post about the projects he’s worked on this year.
“Even Thru The Shit-Storm, Thank God For Another Successful Year!!” the producer wrote, including cover arts from albums like 2 Chainz’s So Help Me God, SAINt JHN’s While The World Was Burning and Eminem’s Music To Be Murdered By: Side B.
The slip-up — or clever marketing strategy — sent Eminem fans buzzing in anticipation of the new record. Director Cole Bennett, who helmed Em’s “Godzilla” clip, was also recently spotted in Detroit’s 8 Mile. Fans believed the pair was filming another music video after Shady was also seen in the area in front of a green screen.
On Twitter, a Side B tracklist also began making rounds, with features like Royce Da 5’9”, Cordae, Skylar Grey and more. The listing said that Dr. Dre executive produced the album, along with help from Mike WiLL Made-It, Pierre Bourne and others. However, KXNG Crooked said the tracklist wasn’t real, pointing to the fake Circle of Bosses logo.
“Oh I know that part for sure because I own that company haha but salute” he tweeted, adding, “Dear Stans.. I can absolutely not confirm ANYTHING that has my logo on it. Sorry guys.”
On Thursday (Dec. 16), producers and Eminem collaborators Fred Wreck and Lonestarrmuzik further added fuel to the rumor fire by posting photos of Alfred Hitchcock to their social media. The late director inspired Em’s Music To Be Murdered By.
For the album’s original edition, the Detroit rapper teamed up with Young M.A, Anderson .Paak, Royce Da 5’9”, Juice WRLD, Black Thought, KXNG Crooked and more. See hints at a possible Music To Be Murdered By: Side B below, rumored to be dropping tonight at midnight.
