King Von was tragically shot and killed in Atlanta early Friday morning (Nov. 6). As the news spreads, the rapper’s friends and members of the music industry are paying their respects with heartfelt tributes.
His best friend and producer ChopSquad DJ took to Instagram to explain how much he’s affected by his recent loss. “My heart can’t take this. No bro. Why you? Why bro?“ he wrote. “Please just FaceTime me bro. Why they had to take you? Ima see you again, this shit ain’t over. It’s far from over. We still just getting started.”
“RIP my best friend,” he continued. “The only nigga to listen to me word for word from day 1. We sat on FaceTime for hours making songs together. Every bar had a meaning, and every song was a part of our soul. Every moment meant somethin[g], and to grow wit you made me feel like I was a real producer. I love you bro.”
dvsn expressed their condolences, noting the Black community must get better at sticking together.
“In a time where there’s so much divide we really gotta get this into the right perspective… we’re not the enemy…,” they wrote. “We have to do better now… Rest in power King Von.”
K. Michelle shared she was a fan of King Von’s music, and asked her fanbase to stop the tragic killings.
“I’m honestly tired of us getting killed. Anybody that knows me knows how much I loved some @kingvonfrmdao,” she penned a caption. “I don’t listen to a lot of rap, but I listened to him and his storytelling daily. This really hit me hard this morning. Dear God bless his sister, his kids, his whole family. I cant believe this. Why every day another young talent has to be takin from us? He has left behind fans that adore him, me being one. R.I.P @kingvonfrmdao 🙏💔 Stop this dumb ass killing.”
