On Saturday (Nov. 28), Lil Yase fans received sad news after it was revealed by a number of his friends that he passed away at the age of 25. His cause of death has not officially been confirmed at this time. However, some are saying that he was killed. We’re still waiting on an accurate update.
Since news of the young star’s death, director Jeremiah Messiah took to his own IG page and said, “I’ll never forget the times brother @yasemoney600 May the Most High resurrect your soul!”
In another post, Messiah added of his now-late friend: “Rest In Peace to one of the coolest funniest dudes I ever met. He was different but he was himself and he always looked out and gave me more money than I asked for recording or anything. And he offered to buy me a new laptop when I got hit. My nigga forever a real one!”
Thousands of supporters of Yase on social media have also been tributing the fallen rapper. “REST IN PEACE LIL YASE In honor of lil yase I’m finna put this slapper on your timeline,” a fan with the username @Finestgracie wrote with a video of one of his. Peep that below.
Another person with the username @syd_naynay added, “R.I.P. Young Curt, R.I.P. Lil Yase, Bay Area legends that will never be forgotten,” while @Passionweiss continued: “RIP Lil Yase. ‘Pull Up’ with Drakeo was a genuine Bay to LA classic, one of the first to really set off the next wave of West Coast rap. Another tragedy in a year filled with little else.”
In 2018, Fader mentioned Lil Yase as one of the top five up-and-coming rappers from San Francisco. Just a week and a half ago, the late rapper also dropped his last video for his track “Big One.”
