Lil Baby is donating the proceeds from one of his hit records to the less fortunate. The “Drip Too Hard” emcee announced that $1.5 million made from “The Bigger Picture” will go to a charity of his choice.

“I got 1.5 million dollars to donate off of ‘Bigger Picture.’ I want the money to go where it’s needed,” he tweeted, noting his desire to present the monetary contribution to an organization that helps Black people.

“I don’t want to donate to just any organization, but I will be letting my fans kno exactly we’re the money goes,” he wrote in a follow-up tweet. “Lawyers, bonds, playgrounds, jobs, youth activities, things that WE can really benefit off of.”

“The Bigger Picture” was released in June — amid the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement — and sees the rapper discussing police brutality, systemic racism and the ways in which the world can be made a better place. The song differs from the Quality Control artist’s usual trap records, but it garnered more attention and became the highest-charting single of his career. Most recently, the song earned him Grammy nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.

2020 has been a great year for Lil Baby. The emcee’s sophomore effort My Turn — which unfortunately was not included in the nominations for the Grammy’s Best Rap Album category— was certified double platinum, making him the first artist to reach the milestone this year. He was also named Apple Music’s Artist of the Year earlier this month.

Amid all of his current accomplishments, the rapper is already focusing on his forthcoming project. He recently announced he is in album mode and will not be doing any features for the time being. After posting a cryptic tweet earlier this week, however, fans believe the project will be coming out on Dec. 3, Lil Baby’s 26th birthday.
