For Gucci Mane and Jeezy fans, Thursday (Nov. 19) can’t come soon enough. Over the weekend, La Flare broke hip hop Twitter when he announced that he would be going head to head with Jeezy in the next installment of Verzuz.
As many rap fans are already aware of, the two Trap OGs history is an extensive one where not only have infamous diss tracks dropped from them both, but they had beef so severe that actual bodies and court cases were caught. So, imagine the shock when Guwop relieved this Verzuz news.
“Tell buddy get ready Thursday Nov 19 @verzuztv Trap God vs Snow cone,” Gucci said on social media with a flyer for the upcoming IG Live showdown. It took Jeezy about a day to finally react to the announcement, which people were eagerly waiting for him to do.
But, when the MC turned enTRAPaneur did, he clapped back, “SAY lil guwop SEE YOU ON THE 19th. DON’T SEND YA CLONE! BIG SNO⛄️ #R2.” Peep these posts below.
Aside from their checkered past, this Verzuz reveal is also shocking because Jeezy admitted that Gucci declined the opportunity to partake in that battle with him a few weeks back. During a recent appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” Jeezy said: “Imma keep it a buck. When I even got the call about Verzuz, I got the call from Swizz. Swizz called me. I was like, ‘Yo Swizz if I do it, it’s only one person I’ll do it with.’ And he was like, ‘Who?’ I was like, ‘Gucci. Reach out to him. Let me know what’s up.’”
He added: “Swizz hit back and said he respectfully declined. Cool. Done. Kept it moving. I was gonna do it for the culture. We could’ve did it for the culture.”
May the best Trap OG win.
