Today (Oct. 2), in the wee hours of the morning, President Donald Trump and his wife Melania announced they tested positive for Coronavirus. Moments after sharing the news, people took to social media to react to Trump’s diagnosis.

Many poked fun at the president, noting he’s probably experiencing karma for his failure to take the virus seriously.

“Sir, I wish you a speedy sixteen weeks in bed!” one Twitter user wrote.

Another user joked, “Such an obvious ploy to get her (Melania) to hang with you.”

“Haha, that is amazing,” a third user tweeted. ‘It’ll just disappear, like a miracle.’ This is what having rallies with many anti-maskers does to you, you white supremacist orange piece of shit.”

Some users seemed not to care much about Trump having COVID-19.

“Anyways, what’s your favorite song on Savage Mode 2?” one tweet read.

“I mean, wtf did you expect?” someone else tweeted. “You go out with no mask, and your family refused to wear a mask at the debate…YOU will get through it by yourself! @FLOTUS, go get get that bag girl!”

Other users suggested Trump take his own advice and drink bleach as a remedy, and a few questioned the validity of Trump’s revelation, offering their theories about the president’s intention to steer the media away from his recent white supremacist remarks.

Trump’s positive COVID-19 diagnosis comes days after he poked fun at Joe Biden for wearing a mask at the first presidential debate.

“Every time you see him, he’s got a mask. He could be speaking 200 feet away … and he shows up with the biggest mask I’ve ever seen,” Trump mocked Biden.

Biden has since sent well wishes to his opponent. He and his wife Jill tested negative for COVID-19.
