Lizzo is done with Twitter…for now.

The 31-year-old Grammy-nominated singer tweeted Sunday (Jan. 5) that she was taking a break from the social media platform because there were “too many trolls.”

She tweeted, “Yeah I can’t do this Twitter shit no more.. too many trolls… I’ll be back when I feel like it.”

Many fans tweeted the “Juice” singer to show their support for her. One fan tweeted, “Please know for every troll, there are so many genuine fans here to show love and support. We’ve got your back QUEEN! Hope you come back to us soon!”

Another fan tweeted, “Sending you all the uplifting energy. Those people are miserable and down right evil. They desperately want to deem your light with their nonsense. Do what’s best to you.”

Lizzo’s weight has become the topic of discussion for many people on the internet. She recently had to clap back at Dr. Boyce Watkins after he tweeted that Lizzo was only a popular singer because of the weight epidemic taking place in America.

He tweeted, “#Lizzo popular is because there is an obesity epidemic in America. Rather than encouraging people to do better, we are simply lying to them and telling them that they are just fine the way they are. Unfortunately, Many of these people are dying from diabetes and heart disease.”

Lizzo responded to the tweet with a fiery clapback.

“I’m popular because I write good songs and I’m talented and perform high energy hour and a half shows filled with love,” she wrote on the social media platform. “The only person who needs to do better is you.”

“Keep my name out ya mouth & look in the mirror before you come for me,” the tweet continued. “Here’s the attention you ordered.”

Lizzo always speaks out about body positivity and self-love.

In a recent interview with Entertainment City she said, “It took me a long time to be self-confident and I think it’s because I had to see the superstar in me, because I didn’t have a superstar to look up to. Body positivity, to me, is the opposite of body negativity, which is this thing that the media has kind of created in order to sell a product, and it seems pretty harmless… but it’s hurt so many people.”

“We can change the world by learning to love ourselves first,” she continued.
