“Pose” star Billy Porter is chiming in on Pastor Troy’s homophobic comments about the Grammys, Lil Nas X, and Applebee’s.
The TMZ cameras caught Porter as he was getting in his vehicle and they asked him did he happen to see Pastor Troy come at Lil Nas X. Porter replied, “Yes, I did.” The reporter then asked him what did he think about the comments. Porter replied, “I don’t think anything about it.”
The reporter then mentioned how there seems to be a lot of homophobia in hip hop. Porter agreed saying, “There’s a lot of homophobic in hip hop.”
Yesterday (Jan. 29), Pastor Troy got dragged on social media for saying that the Grammys, Lil Nas X, and Applebee’s push a gay agenda on black men.
He shared a photo of Lil Nas X in his pink suit from the Grammys and wrote, “Welp, guess I won’t be winning a GRAMMY…If this what I gotta wear. They love to push this shit on our kids!”
“The other day @applebees had some punks kissing and laughing eating mozzarella sticks. First thing my 14 yr old Son said was, “F**** Applebee’s” And it Brought Joy to My Heart!! He see it…their agenda to take the masculinity from Men, Black Men Especially. Some may say, “He Making Money!!” RuPaul do too, but I ain’t bumping his CD!!! Integrity is Priceless,” he continued.
Fans took to Twitter to call him out on his comments.
One Twitter user said, “Now “PastorTroy” you not winning a Grammy has little to do with what you wear and more to do with your music not being captivating for decades. His songs won him Grammys not his outfits. Just say you hate gay people and go. Encouraging hateful speech from your son is disgusting.”
Lil Nas X has since responded to Pastor Troy’s comments saying “Damn i look good in that pic on god.”
