After learning about the sudden arrest of YG, The Game took to twitter to tweet his thoughts on the situation.
He tweeted, “Funny how @YG gets arrested the weekend of the Grammy’s when he’s supposed to hit the stage in Nip’s honor. #LAPDtheBiggestGangHere.”
This isn’t the first time Game has called out the LAPD. After Nipsey Hussle passed away, an alleged radio signal belonging to police officers was leaked. In the audio, the alleged cops said disrespectful things about Nipsey’s family and his home going service, which took place at the Staples Center.
According to TMZ, cops showed up to YG’s home with a search warrant today (Jan. 24). The rapper was arrested in connection with a robbery case that is allegedly still ongoing.
YG’s attorney Joe Tacopina tells TMZ, “This arrest is one that caught YG completely off guard because there is no truth to them. YG has no idea what investigators are talking about and we have not been provided with any details … we are learning about this case through the media.”
Tacopina continues, “Rest assured, my client will be cleared of all charges, if they even survive past the arraignment.”
Although the alleged robbery case is still an ongoing investigation, Tacopina says that the cops’ motives are “pretty clear”
He says, “This has become even more outrageous … normally, in the American justice system, you get arrested after an investigation is completed. The motives here are pretty clear.”
This arrest comes at a pretty interesting time. YG was set to perform at the 62nd Grammy Awards as part of the Nipsey Hussle tribute. The performance will also include appearances from DJ Khaled, Roddy Ricch, Meek Mill, John Legend, Kirk Franklin and more.
YG’s bail has been set at $250,000. We will keep you updated with the latest.
