Fat Joe’s Dre-produced Family Ties album arrived yesterday (Dec. 6). The star-studded album includes one track, “Lord Above,” featuring Eminem and Mary J. Blige, where Em takes shots at Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey.
“I know me and Mariah didn’t end on a high note/ But that other dude’s whipped, that pu**y got him neutered,” Em rhymes, referring to Cannon and Carey’s 8-year marriage. “Tryna tell him his chick’s a nut ‘fore he got his jewels clipped/ Almost got my caboose kicked/ Fool, quit, you not gon’ do sh*t/ I let her chop my balls off too before I lost to you, Nick.”
Bad blood between Cannon and Eminem is nothing new, and Cannon addressed the diss during his Power 106 show.
“Em has been doing this forever,” he said on air. “He should change his name from Eminem to Percocet. What’s the pills that old people take? We gonna call him Cialis. Bring your walker, get out your wheelchair, Eminem, and pop whatever you pop.”
“Should I respond back? It’s not worthy of a response,” he continued. “Then I gotta get in my time machine and put my jiggalo jersey on.”
From there, Cannon did an impression of Em over the diss track.
“Aw, but he’s a legend!” one Power 106 crew member said while laughing at Cannon’s impression.
“No he’s not,” Cannon replied.
On Dec. 4, before Family Ties dropped, Fat Joe warned of Eminem’s feature while being interviewed on “Sway In The Morning.”
“Shout out to Eminem, Shade 45! You know that boy on the album. Marshy! I’ma give you one line Eminem says on the song,” he said. “The most disrespectful song. Eminem has not rhymed like this in years. He said he’s a ‘unicorn in the human form.’ The illest line that he said that’s stuck in my head was ‘I’m just a cracker with a barrel, armed to the t, Anderson .Paak, rest in peace Afeni Shakur and her son Pac.’ Crazy! This boy going too crazy.”
